I think you do as this will ensure it goes against your IVA account at their end.
if in doubt ring them to confirm.

I didn't like this much either. But then my old SO said Melanie Giles Client which hardly better.
They need this reference number with the IVA bit because that's their internal reference number and I believe they have arrangements other than IVAs to deal with.
I'm pretty sure it's just for an electronic bank reconciliation. If the reference is incomplete or wrong it won't match to your account and they will probably think they haven't received anything from you.

I wouldn't worry about the pre-fix of IVA when setting up your SO.
Your bank will be fully aware of your status. And who would see your statements anyway!

When I spoke to them last week they said that they needed your number then your surname eg 12345/smith. So that's what I have done. Should be enough for any internal finance matching process to work. As with everything so far it will no doubt be a complete muddle so who knows. The important thing is you will be able to prove that money has been sent to their account with your iva reference number. Any generic suffix letters are immaterial otherwise we would be down to putting the words gas or tax in front of those standing orders too!

Greg from Creditfix said IVA will not show on your bank statement
