I am rather perplexed at the moment. I know the guideline to receive a COC is 6 months but why do some companies only take 1 month to come through and others seem to take forever??
An IVA is a long hard road but valuable lessons have been learnt along the way. Now looking forward to enjoying a debt free future!
If your with Grant Thornton don't expect to receive your CC any time soon. I have now been waiting 2 years since my final payment and still no closer too been debt free.
I've always been puzzled by this too. I got mine within 2 months others waiting 2 years, it should have a ruling on it and companies penalised for being outside of a set time, they'd certainly get their finger out then, one would hope!
Even with PPI if you've signed something to say go for it claim what you can they can issue the certificate in my mind and work in the background.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Hi soclose it took and year and nearly 3 months for my cc to come I am with grant thornton as well I had to make a complaint to the ipa and within a month I received my cc because I complained although I have my cc I still have on going ppi as well.
Last payment made August 2012 Certificate of Completion recieved 15th of Novenber 2013.
I was not given a timescale by grant thornton I had no communication from them for over a year I had to chase my cc myself my complaint is still on going as I have been told there has been a lot of complaints around the same time as I made my complaint.

Hi Relieved33, with the same company as you and my final payment is 1st May. PPI and equity all resolved so looking for a speedy closure. Read in your blog it was done and dusted within 29 days!!!! hope it is the same for me.
Can you tell me what was involved in the final review and when this happened in relation to you last payment. Just wanted to ensure everything is done as quickly as possible.
Had to send off bank statements, P60, payslips etc for normal review which we did at the end. Slight delay as person we sent stuff to had gone on maternity so had to resend. Switched to Bella who was very efficient and we kept in regular email contact. Came as a surprise to sort so quickly to be honest. Had had payment breaks and reduced payments so not simple. Hubby's was quicker as we had car issues that I had spent my overtime money on so had to wait until next payday to clear.
One month bank statement, p60 and last payslip. Had to complete I&E too, bit unsure as to why but seemed more hassle to ask why than to just do it so I sent it off anyway.
I emailed everything then emailed again a couple of days later to confirm they had everything they needed etc.
Just looked through emails. It took just over a week for things to be sent to completion manager person then about two weeks with them to be checked and processed or whatever. Then took a few days once back from them for Bella to print report, wrire certificate (an actual A4, card certificate!) then the post. Exchanged 5 emails during this time.
Having reread the emails, I sent off one month payslip and bank statements like normal review but they came back and asked for three months worth of both.
In total we sent off 3 months payslips each, three months bank statements (joint account) and last P60 each and revised I& E.
Hope this helps. As I say, we were passed to Bella who was very efficient at replying to emails and sorting things out although we have found everyone that we dealt with from Cleardebt like that.
Yes relieved, very helpful. Really enjoyed your blog and there are so many parallels with my case. Some debts linked to gambling, chose cleardebt (what an inspired, or lucky choice!!). Started May 2009, payments around £1000 per month, has probably brough me and my partner closer together.
