We were with Dunctons, now Moneybarn, during our IVA. High APR but we had little choice as needed a car. No issues with their service though.

If you google you will find a few companies who deal with adverse credit. However, the only one I have seen used, and with good reports, is Moneybarn.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll take a look at Moneybarn. In the meantime if anyone else knows of any other companies I'd welcome the information. Regards. John

Hi John,

I echo all the above- Moneybarn are good, although have a couple of friends who are with Car Finance 24/7, but as I've not used them I cannot really comment.

Moneybarn have a good customer service team, you can also make additional payments if you choose without incurring any fines, and increase/decrease deposits and length of finance to amend your monthly payment amount to suit at the start.

Only downside is apr. Ours was 30% when we started our agreement in 2011 and it's due to be paid off this November, however they were the only ones who could help us, so we went with them.

I would use again.

Thanks MrsR and congratulations on your recent completion. I still have 4 years to go. I came across that carfinance247 they appear to be a broker as upon inputting my figures they recommended going with Moneybarn. It looks like Moneybarn is the only company so far.

Thank you :)
It doesn't hurt to give Moneybarn a call. I did before I started playing with the calculator !

They were great and deal with a lot of people within ivas, and that made me feel at ease, which was nice.

Moneybarn being part of the provident group doesnt surprise me,both with horrendous APRs, but needs must sometimes.

Can I ask if your IP has approved you getting car finance? Is it affordable during the IVA?

I ended up having to buy a cheap runaround which managed to last 5 years!!! Hared seeing early 20 somethings running about in newer motors than me!!!

Is there any way a family member could take the finance for you? You could be saving thousands a year in interest.

Good luck.

Paul
