Just a thought I had which I decided to share [:)]

If you feel your IVA years will pass slowly, just think of how quickly your car's MOT seems to come around!
One pay-cheque away from oblivion!

The issue of time passing in an IVA is a funny one. We have just passed the 2.5 year point and that has gone REALLY quickly but sometimes the individual months seem to D...R....A....G and then all of a sudden it seems you have made another 6 months payments and you are another half a year towards the end of it. With any luck my IVA will end after 5 years due to lack of equity although my husband's is likely to be extended and that is something that we are bit fed up about but we may consider approaching a family member/friend to enable us to offer a F&F after 5 years so that both our IVA's end at the same time. We have found the last few months much more of a struggle than the first couple of years but it does indeed go very quickly. A good example of that is that our daughter finished Uni this year and I very clearly remember taking her up to Uni 3 years ago and that time seems to have gone in a blink of any eye, so hopefully the next 2.5/3 years will go just as quickly. Not wishing our lives away, just keen to get on with our lives post-IVA's.

I think the trick is to not let the IVA rule your lives ( watched pot and all that). The less you think about it the quicker it will pass.

I thought that myself, in the early stages, now I only have one payment left to make at the beginning of August and was thinking a few days ago that it did not seem 5 years since I started the process.

Yes it has been a struggle at times and a bumpy road but seeing the end of the ride soon.

Good luck in yours being successful.

From the other side of the coin my IVA cases seem to fly by! One moment it's all hands to the deck getting the proposals put together and holding the meeting then the next thing it's time to do the annual review or close the case!

My first year seemed to go very slowly, probably because I still didn't really know what to expect and it took some time to get used to budgeting. Also the first review was something I dreaded as again I didn't know what to expect. As it happened my payments stayed the same throughout my IVA term and once the first year was over and I knew what to expect it just flew by. I never let it rule me .. luckily I have no kids so could afford to make cutbacks so I had some money to go out once in a while and in my last year started a new relationship (though I have to admit to not admitting to my poor finances incase it scared her off!) I finished this year and my CC was issued very quickly and I can now enjoy life and look to the future which I couldn't have done without the IVA
