Hi guys
This is the last question before I speak to an IP tomorrow, he will no doubt have the answer however I just wondered if anyone can help put my mind at ease.
Ive been very silly and gambled away a full £20000 halifax personal loan last month. I haven't even made a payment on this and I'm terrified I won't make the first payment let alone my credit card minimum payment as well!!
Can I add this loan to an IVA even with it being so recent?

I must be added -- all unsecured lending has to be included.

Other forum members have had proposals accepted with large, very recent, loans and gambling problems. Don't despair, there will be a way forward, even if it has to go in stages.

Im speaking to an IP from Stepchange. Is there anyone who you'd recommend? Who maybe more sympathetic to my situation?

Read my blog. Hubby had gambling debt and we found a solution. Call a few companies and see what they say. It costs nothing. Do not pay any upfront fees as there are loads of companies who are good and do not charge.

The problem with Stepchange is that you cannot speak to your supervisor ( the IP) and they might also pass you over to Grant Thornton, who are very difficult to deal with at the moment.

I would definitely speak to McCambridge Duffy (Michael Peoples, who replied to your other thread, works for them.

Hi I have seen similar posts on this forum and some debtors say they couldn't enter an IVA until they had sought help for their gambling addiction and could provide 6 months bank statements to show they had overcome their problems. It depends on the choice of IP as to which ones will support you. Some people have found that they had to put a DMP in place for a few months to get history of cooperation first then move to an IVA. Good luck.
