As many of you know we made our last payment on April 1st. (yes I know ,very suitable date) we settled down to pass the long 6 month GT wait. Arrived home today to a letter from GT. Opened it with trepidation as expected it to be a problem with closure and they needed more info, to find inside our CC and final creditors report.
Stunned is so pale a word to how we feel right now, I had to go shopping so picked up a bottle of fizz for hubby and me tonight to celebrate.

I know we were a simple case we are not home owners, we had never taken a payment break just plodded on through the full 60 months, it feels so surreal to think it is now over apart from that stupid register.

The best advice I can give is try not to let your IVA rule your life, looking back so much has changed in the 5 years, we have gained 3 beautiful grandchildren, the eldest grandchild has moved in with his dad (my son) so we seem him a lot more often which if fantastic, hubby has survived a major road accident and cancer. I have had my gallbladder removed and I have seem off 2 Lab managers! Plus I have learnt / learning to drive and have my test in the next few weeks... Phew no wonder the IVA became such a small part of our lives.

Keep plodding on people I will be here with you every step of your journey. This forum was a huge help when setting up and during our IVA and I intend to continue contributing and help others as I was helped.

That is fantastic news Peejayel - so very pleased for you as I know you've had a rough time of it. You will hopefully come off the register before the three months!

Glad your hubby is ok now and good luck for your test!!

Well done!

Regarding the register, we emailed them the day after (report an error link at the bottom) and they emailed us the day after, apologised and removed us straight away!!

Good luck!

You were lucky Steven! Mine was removed more or less straightaway but other posters (and Foggy is one) will tell you that sometimes they refuse to do anything until the three months is up.

Yes, Steven, very lucky ! I had to sit out the full term ! (Maybe I upset them!).

PJ ..... Great news ! The IVA will soon be a thing of the past, but the lessons will remain. Let's hope GT are getting their mojo back.

Happy for you PJ, gutted that I am with GT and my last payment was December 2014 and still no CC. I think a round of emails to closures is my next task.
Good luck for your debt free future.

Enjoyed reading your post - congratulations. IVA's are hard work but 5 years of your life is not a long time and the rewards at the end are well worth it. Hope you enjoy a debt free future :-)

Big Congrats on being finished. Loved your post, just seeing how much life can change over the course of an IVA. It seems things are looking a lot brighter for you now.

Fingers crossed for your driving test.[:)]

Well done Merlin, mine was dated 15/7/15 but we didn't recieve it until 31/7/15 so it takes a couple of weeks for closures and snail mail to deliver.
.... Now remember no kissing the postman, they get quite upset about it unless you are female, blonde, and about 18 :-)
