If they were included in your IVA then they can do nothing. Do you still have your completion letter? Have it to hand when you speak to them - you might have to send them a copy.

That's good - it really is bad of them though. These things always happen at the weekend don't they?

I just feeldevastated that such a thing ciuld happen bearing in mind that our iva was paid up 100%, nothing was written off, so there is no debt to Barclays or anyone else. Everything was finalised over 2 years ago and todays letter was the first thing, its not like we only partially paid the iva and barclays had to write off the debt but hadnt in error, leading to todays letter. Its just bought back all the stress of the iva

I'm sure it will all be sorted out on Monday.

I had a similar letter last week which made me panic. On investigation the letter was generated automatically when Barclays realised that they had been interest charged in error, which was credited against the original debt. The central file was already marked as settled, so nothing to worry about!

Well, not quite as strightforward, barclays said on the phone that they have had no payment out of the iva. My completion statement shows that all our debts were paid 100%. My ip has conirmed this and has suggested barclays ring her, they have declined to do this, instead are treating the matter as a complaint. Barclays suggested that " as noone in an iva ever pays off the full amount, I ammistaken in believing I have...I asked them why they had paid 10k ppi off of the debt in question, if the debt still, in thier eyes, exsisited, why did they not pay the ppi against it? They say that the debt waswritten off when the iva started and as such the ppi refund was madedirect to our ip. None of this makes any sense to me

This is bad - I do hope your IP company can help you out here.

I rather think that the person you were speaking to does not really know what happens with an IVA.

Rest assured that they CANNOT do anything to you. You have the paperwork to prove that you have paid it off.

Please don't worry!

As Kallis says, they can do nothing in regard to this debt ---- the person you spoke to has already contradicted themselves .... if, as they categorically state, PPI was paid, rather than offset against the debt, because the debt had been written off, how come they are pursuing a debt that, by their own admission, no longer exists.

If they contact you again refuse to discuss it .. the matter was covered by the IVA and, as such, they have no right to contact you, but should direct all communication via the Supervisor at the time.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
