Now my IVA is completed should my IP be informing the register to take my name off? How does this process work please? I am trying to understand where the responsibility lies whether myself, IP or creditors?
Note this is the Northern Ireland register so different to the main one. Will appreciate any feedback in particular from people in NI who have completed IVA and what the process was.

Not sure about NI register - hopefully Michael Peoples can pick up on this and advise.

When my iva finished and I had received completion certificate I emailed the address listed on iva register and asked for it to be removed. This only took a couple of days to happen
My IP told me that the creditors remove it which didnt make much sense to me. I had always thought it was the IP to give notice to the register to remove.
Briggadeen, how long did it take out of interest for you to get an email response from the NI register? I emailed them with a copy of my completion cert.
No that doesn't sound right unless they do things differently in Ireland. It could be two queries are being mixed up here. There is an insolvency register, which your IP usually notifies to take you off. The creditors then update their records which remove any defaults etc off your personal credit rating/record.
There is no difference and I think lisa is correct in there appears to be a misunderstanding. The IP has no say over credit reference agencies but does notify the registrar when the IVA is completed. It can take up to three months to have the name removed but there is no harm in asking for it to be removed quicker.
Yes, you are right. My IP or at least the person who emailed me back has confused the credit ref agencies with the register. I will give the register another few days in hope they will come back to me.
I just get frustrated when I email these public sector institutions and they havent even the decency to come back to me with a reply let alone acknowledge receipt of my email.
I received my completion certificate and emailed them immediately to say that I was in receipt of it. A few days later I checked to find that I was removed. I didn't get a reply to my email. Although it did take GT 5 months for completion.
I received my completion certificate dated 29th september 2015. The insolvency register was updated to show this but I wasn't removed until today 29th December, exactly 3 months. I think it's automated to remove you three months from completion date. I'm just soo happy I'm now off it.
