Please can someone help!!
I've been with credit fix for two years never missed a payment, but my boiler has broken and been condemned, I need a new boiler, I'm a single parent with 2 children, i never wanted to borrow again, but have found myself with this being the only thing I can do, as I work in not entitled to heating grant, I've equity in my house and yet can't borrow from my mortgage company, ive spoken with Susan wriggles worth and she is not allowing me to borrow more, I'm really at a loss at what to do or where to go for advice.

Hi and welcome,

Sorry to hear of your problems - speak to CAB to see if they know of any places you can go to.

There are a few companies around that let you rent the boiler out.

There a couple of links - hopefully you may find them useful

I would seriously consider - if you havent already - demand to speak to your IP direct.
No one should be expected to do without heating or hot water

A payment break ? I'm sure that would be o.k and then just tag the extra on the end.

Have a look at everlasting boilers, I made an enquiry with them a while back. No credit checks and you pay monthly over 10 years with a service plan included.

On the other hand though - wouldn't that be classed as credit as far as the IP is concerned?

Creditfix will need to let the poster do something! they cannot be expected to go 3-4 more years with no water/heating? Surely? I wonder if this is the first line of customer service again? Have you actually managed to speak to IP directly??????
people are allowed to lease cars? or even buy one in an IVA a boiler is surely as important?

I agree that they should be allowed a payment break.

I guess it depends on payment as to whether a payment break would help. Our boiler broke and we were allowed a payment break, good thing was our monthly payment was high. Some payments seem to be only a small amount relative to the cost of a boiler.

Hopefully you will get something sorted, if you have children then speak to school or health visitor if they are younger. There are agencies to support. Good luck!

If you are getting child tax credits you can get a new boiler for free

This is terrible, you are entitled to heating and hot water and I suggest you strongly ask to speak to your IP direct and explain the situation.

I cannot imagine what you're experiencing, there are schemes out there to help with boilers and you should be allowed to join one, even if you're not allowed a payment break.

You cannot be without heating/hot water. Let us know how you get on.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I am sorry to hear about your boiler breaking down and also agree that it should qualify for a break. I thought that the IP had both the creditors and the debtors interests in mind and when we agreed to our IVA we were told of it in case of an emergency, yet on the one occasion when we needed to find £400 for our car we were told we couldn't have one. We occasionally received mixed msgs over our 6 years and we paid £400pm. It seems that the 'break' varies between IPs.
