Hi all,
Please could someone put my mind at ease on a few things!
1. I have a PayPal Access card which I believe is NOT a credit card and I can only use it for what is in my PayPal account. It has the word business written on it as well for some reason.
Is this allowed whilst in an IVA?
2. The money going into PayPal is from items sold on eBay, is this allowed during the IVA?
3. Is there or will there be any issues in the future uploading any PayPal money to my bank account?
Thank you (again!)
Em.

So long as it is not regarded as taxable income you should be ok.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Hi Em. As long as you use ebay to sell only personal, surplus, goods and not as a business the card is OK --- it is more akin to a pre-paid card as you can only spend funds already loaded to it.

Yes it does thanks Lesley although I'm still nervous about it, I just don't want to mess my IVA up.
Foggy, the only items I sell are children's clothing etc that my children have grown out of. This is the card https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/accesscard
Could you just confirm for me again? Sorry to be a pain, things are going well since IVA started in Jan but I'm a worrier!!
Thanks, Em.

If you are worried it would be better to confirm with your own IP. I had a paypal access card and my IP wasn't interested ( I used to tell them everything for the avoidance of doubt -- I think they got sick of me in the end :-) ). Selling surplus household items privately ( i.e not as part of a business) is no problem. In any event the amounts involved are going to be modest).

Thank you foggy, really appreciate you getting back to me. You are right, I will email my IP and get a resolution to this. They will be sick of me by the end as well but I want to ensure I am not doing anything that voids the IVA.

Hopefully it'll be a positive response.

I've bought and sold on EBay for a while now, always my own stuff - do car boots too in the summer now and then. Whatever money I made was always earmarked for something that was required.

Hi all, I received this back from my IP this morning so looks fine?

"There are no restrictions on you owning and using a PayPal card for your PayPal account so long as there is no credit facility such as an overdraft with it.

EBay is also ok it use so long as it’s not being used for business purposes or where enough is being earned that it would be considered income.

I trust the above is satisfactory"

It doesn't have an overdraft etc as you can only spend what is in your PayPal account. Also, I'm guessing that a few quid from kids clothing etc would not be considered as income?
