I have just got married in Russia and we are planning to apply for my wife spouse visa soon. Also, I'm into an IVA and that makes me worry in regards to her visa's application. I do meet all the other requirements such as a minimum salary of £18,600 as my average salary is more than £30,000. I also live in a rented apartment where my wife will join to live with me. My question is simply is that could being on an IVA be a issue when we apply for my wife spouse visa?

Not 100% sure but you could try telephoning the Visa department at the Embassy anonymously or also see if there is anything on the UKGov website about it.

Thanks for reply, couldn't find anything on Gov website or online , and couldn't get any information from embassy too! They said ask an IVA expert or a solicitor!

I would imagine you would have to prove that you could support your new wife.Other than that I would imagine there would be no obstacles.

Today 1st of December 2016 the vultures finally flew away
my brother has just married a vietnimese lady she came on fiancee visa they married in uk have had a child he has had to pay for all the hospital bills for his wife having the baby and all midical help she had a cesarian birth so that has had to be figured into costs albiet he is not in an iva but im not sure if they would allow this is income and exprenditure albiet im not an expert but was 4 years in an iva and now finished after a full and final hope this helps
full final paid over 29/2/16 cc arrived 12/4/16 its all over
Thanks, based on Gov website as long as I’m employed with a salary greater than £18,600 and a place to accommodate my wife and that we can show that we are in real a relationship, we will meet all the home office requirements, there is not such information in regards to the individual debts and of course there are cost more than £1300 for a visa and around £600 for NHS plus any solicitor cost if we get one to help with our application. Unfortunately, I could not get any information in regards to people like me that they are into an IVA. We are prepared to pay for all its cost, however as I’ve mentioned, the only things that worries me is my IVA and that’s why I was hoping an IVA expert may have my answer.

You could always have a free consultation with a solicitor if you are now back in the UK to see what your options are.

what i mean is when i was in my iva everything had to be accounted for im assuming your ip may wonder where you could fine 1300 poiunds when that could be for your creditors if you get my drift

If the spouse or family has the money then it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes I got you, I can do some overtime at work to prepare the visa cost for sure, also my wife has some saving which we can spend on her visas matter. I'm back to UK now and I thought I'll start from here before getting any solicitor involved.
There are a lot of solicitors who will give a free 30 minute consultation and you can also visit your local Citizen Advice Bureau for help.
