My husband and I are currently in IVA's. Prior to this we were with the CCCS but creditors still kept pursuing us. Since being in the IVA's life is feeling more settled. Can anyone advise on the following. My elderly car (1984) is on it's last wheels. It's value at the time of inception of the IVA's was £500. My father is in his 80's and is giving up driving. He wants to give me his car a Corsa worth between £2,000 and £2,500. Want impact would this have on the IVA bearing in mind that I have to have a car to travel to and from work and obviously I have to work to be able to pay the IVA and living expenses. Your comments and advice would be much appreciated.
Absolutely no impact at all on the IVA - apart from your car insurance, road tax and maintenance figures might change. A big thank you to Dad must be in order - what a kind gentleman he must be.
