Does it have to be from there specifically? You can use one from anywhere.

You can try this link ...

http://www.insolvency-service.co.uk/newipsearch.htm

You can also have a look on

http://www.iva.com/

This site reviews Insolvency Practitioners / their practices. As Kallis3 points out, you are free to use an IP from anywhere in the Country and don't necessarily have to find one on your own doorstep. No matter who you select, you should be offered a face to face meeting and so if you pick someone in the other end of the country they should still offer to meet with you personally.

Hi

I would suggest that geography is not the best way to choose an IP.

you could do some research on IVA.com or alternatively check out the 3 IP's here of note and some industry importance.

Hi there

I would advise speaking to a couple of different people and then making a decision based on the advice you have been given and who you feel most comfortable dealing with as you need to be able to communicate with them.

As others have said www.iva.com is a great starting point as you can see what clients think of their IP's and the level of service they have recieved.

Good luck

That's a great recommendation Andy. I was racking my brains, but Richard is an excellent IP - and was once President of the IP if I remember rightly.

Not sure if he does too much personal insolvency these days, but if he does not he will certainly be able to recommend someone in that area.

I know him very well and he still sits on one of the committees that I am on (R3's Small Practitioners Group)- not sure though that he still does personal IVA's but give him a ring or as advised visit www.iva.com.
