Hi there!
I am in a bit of a turmoil so hope someone is able to help!
My husband and i have both been in an IVA since march 08. We have the usual modifications ie anything above the 10% in our wages has to be sent to IP. The IP sent us an income form to enable us to keep track of our income and help us to work out the amount (if any ) that needs to be sent on a monthly basis.I rang IP in Aug 08 as I did not understand whether we still needed to do this when either one of us were below the monthly allowance as my wage was below this amount but my husbands was slightly above. We were told to send our wage slips so they could examine it. After a few weeks we were told we did not owe anything but were not given an explanation on how it works.
Since Sept 08 I have been sick and have been getting below the monthly allowance (average £100 per month)however my husband has been getting slightly over and I am wondering if this amount has still to be sent to IP. Is the allowance worked out over the year or is it monthly? and do they take into consideration the months that are below the monthly allowance? I am so confused!!
You should be fine as the household income has not increased. Keep your IP informed of any changes and he/she will put your mind at ease. The calculations are based on your annual income and allows for fluctuations. By the sound of things you will have nothing to pay and nothing to worry about.
