Not with A/L Basic - just as well in my case - not very good with the computer- can't you tell from the typing mistakes. I would send the money off to cyberspace!!!
Nationwide are strict with thier criteria but that might not be a bad thing if you don't want to get into a mess. Might be worth a thought David for your son, they do have online banking and you can transfer to other accounts online that are not with the nationwide. I find the online banking good, I only have a cashcard but the online saving account might be useful if you want to put a little away each month for a holiday or something.

Well hopefully yors will be ok, hopefully they dont traul through the registers, its so hard knowing which bank to have and what to do, especially now that they are all joining together. You'd think that everybody should be entitled to have a bank account and keep it without someone closing it down. I'd heard HSBC doing it but not any of the others. Did you know someone that ha dtheir A&L account closed.
Jody, the Co-op and Yorkshire Banks come highly recommended on here and are very IVA sympathetic.

Yes they did close it but this ws beacuse they were constantly having to refuse to pay dds - insufficient money in the account. They have a policy of 2 strikes and your out
Thank you one and all for your responses thus far, extremely helpful as always.
I personally want an account with a cheque book as aside of cash there's no other way of paying for things at the kids school, e.g. uniform, trips, after school activities. From what I can see the Nationwide account is the only one that offers this service, or are there others?
If you can get a full flex account with Nationwide then you will get a cheque book.
Apply to any bank who is not a creditor prior to your IVA and you may be ok.
