Kashmere,
In the fianance industry, security services etc employers will delve into credit files a bit more so I see your point of your concern. So even if you are able to do a job, not geting personal clearance is a problem. Try other jobs that do not prejudice bankruptcy or insolvency - which I think are the same as considered in the world of Finance and Banking.

Unfortunately, jobs of any description are very thin on the ground these days, IVA or not!

Thank you for all your advice so far. I've managed to get an interview for Tuesday with a local firm so hopefully they will just require employment references as opposed to a full credit check. Just seems so unfair! Everything was going so well until i got made redundant and never expected to miss out on jobs because of my credit file. Can understand not getting a job because of being rubbish in an interview but failing to even get past the application form stage is just a sucker punch. Will just have to remain positive I guess!
