Hi guys! Im 27 months into my IVA, and now its almost half way, I'm obviously thinking it is totally do-able!

My question is this:

I realise that the defaults etc dissapear at 6 years from the commencement date of the IVA. I also believe that my ex creditors can still register payment defaults to the three credit reference agencies after the IVA commencement date.

Now, is there anything I can do to start to sort out the 3 credit records before my IVA completes, or does the IVA have to finish before I can start to correct the records?

Many thanks

OTW

Hi,

Well done on getting this far through your IVA.

Unfortunately, some creditors will continue to default your account throughout the IVA - Lombard Direct are doing that with me.

The good news is that they can't do it. However, as your IVA is still current and it will remain on your file for the full six years, I would wait until your IVA has been completed. After that point, get a copy of your record from all three CRA's - Equifax, Experian and Call Credit. Check what is on there and then write to any creditor who has defaulted and tell them to remove the defaults.

Nearly halfway to that point though - has to be a plus!
