They should not be saying things like that!

Yes, you need to budget, but you do still have a life and if you wish to add to your family, then go ahead.

Good luck Tammy and let us know how things go.

Of course you can. We have a budget baby and she is a wonderful addition to our lives. All you have to do is set out some ground rules before you start. We worked out that nappies would cost £5 a week so we payed £280 for a pack that are washable preformed nappies and these will keep her till she is potty trained.so a big saving there. Then we shop at matalan and can get six months clothes for her at about £50. The biggest saving was that for six months she was purely breastfed and now she eats all fresh food that we have in our weekly food bill and considering that a baby needs a balanced intake of food it means that our weekly food bill only went up by £5 per week. So a little planning and a bit of help from family for a cot and buggy and you really can enjoy having a little crazy person join your life. Hope this helps and get practicing !!! x
excellent advice there! You can also, from most local authorities, get a £30 grant towards towards the cost of reusable nappies if you have the receipts etc.

Also check freecycle for baby stuff, people pass on loads of stuff and it is all absolutely free and in your local area. eBay can be great for baby bargains too as can charity shops.I regularly pick up Next, Mini Mode, Mothercare, Osh Kosh and other decent name clothes that are in excellent condition for pennies. I am very proud of my 60p Peppa Pig trousers that are about £17 in Next!

I am not suprised your husband went mad.

They really should not be saying things like that.
I wonder what they would tell clients to do if a accident did occur?
Especially with getting additional help form child tax credits & a bit extra from Child Benefit.
I really can not see a IVA being Seriously affected, just my view but I think they are very wrong.
Good Luck n let us know how you get on x
