just going down the route of IVA, Melanie and her team sent all the info out yesterday, cancelled all the DD opened a cashminder account, moving very fast my partner brilliant, its me thats going to be in IVA, we are in the process of getting statements, settlment figures etc, felt like a weight has been lifted, woke up at 3am everything running through my mind, woke OH up we chatted and I went back to sleep, got estate agents coming first couple of days into new year im sure the debtors will be calling first few days of New Year when they dont get paid, but im ready. Need to remember to breathe, it helps
What a fantastic attitude from someone who has decided to take the bull by the horns and attack her debts. I have reviewed your case Kazzer, it looks fine and I am delighted that you have asked me to represent you. Hopefully it will be a Happy New Year all round.
Personally I would tell the agents that you are thinking of moving, not that you are entering into an IVA.

can you please explain what the difference is in both options, do you tell them you want a forced sale or maybe not?
Also do you have to inform the mortgage company/secured loan etc, and do you have to change from a repayment to interest only even if you have enough DI between the two of you to meet the payments of the IVA
Kazza I wouldn't mention anything to your estate agents regarding the IVA....you may find they will either run a mile or tell you to pay for their valuation.
Tell them you MAY need to get rid of the house in around one month or so and you dont want the house sitting on the market for the next six months. I told mine I had inherited a large amount of money and was possibly inheriting a house, therefore I wanted a "Realistic" figure for a quick and smooth sale and paying off my mortgage was not a concern.
In any event good luck, you have chosen a great IP and seem to be getting your documentation together quite well, which in most cases actually causes the biggest delay.
Have a great new year everyone and I for one will not be sad to see the back of this decade for one reason and another. Heres to a happy and safe 2010 and beyond.

I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!
Kazza,
you seem about same point as us with Melanies team, had our estate agent out few days ago and told them I had a possible re-location with job prospect and needed a quick sale value, he was only here about 20 mins. Now got a figure but their letter lost in xmas post, so they are sending someone round to deliver in person, feel a bit bad about that, but hay ho they make enough anyway. I got a settlement figure on our secured loan and had to stop myself laughing when was asked if I was going to pay by cheque or card ( let me see..... do I have £33K lying around >>>>> NOT .)
I have been sending docs to Angela over the break so I expect she will have a busy inbox when she gets back.
As I mentioned earlier it is good to talk about it and your so right, the burden and stress seems lifted.
happy new year and the best of luck with your IVA (hope ours goes ok too)

many a mickle makes a muckle ...... if only I hadn't spent all the mickles
There is no need to be untruthful about property valuations. A forced sale valuation is a perfect basis for valuing a property within an IVA, so long as the IP explains the basis of valuation to creditors when it comes to the IVA proposal.
Thank you to all your replies, what about the mortgage do you have to change to interest and will you inform them I am in an a IVA and how will that affect me?
Our mortgage is still repayment, I think it is only NR that may insist on interest only?
Our mortgage provider was informed that we were in an IVA, but we have had no problems with them and continue to pay the mortgage as normal.
