I am in the process of going the IVA route, I have opened a cashminder account with the co-op, waiting for them to send all the relevant documentation, account number etc, I have been online and cancelled all my DD and what funds were left transferred over to my partners account. My partner is concerned that they will try to take money from his account, seperate current accounts abviously at the same address, with the same bank, can they do this in order to cover their loan/charges etc?

Hi Kazzer, if it is only you going down the IVA route and the account is solely in your partners name, then no one can touch it.

They cannot off-set his money against your overdrawn account, so fear not as this cannot happen. But do be careful if you have joint debts with the same bank.

You're right there Mel! I could quite happily stop at home and go to bed when I want!

Have to be with the dogs at midnight though - all the fireworks!
