You do get used to budgeting. I do online surveys as well and the vouchers I get for doing those I give out at Christmas and birthdays. As hubby and I just exchange token gifts, it means that we don't spend a lot at all.

I know that from a lot on here (me included) the allusion is that, oh my lord I have 2.99 left in the bank at the end of the month, isn't life grand! well to be honest speaking for myself I never thought that being able to say that would mean so much, but after getting paid at the end of the month and knowing that I could not even go to the cashpoint because I knew there would be nothing left (and the rest), to be feeling comfortable enough to put my card in the little machine and get the balance every other day without feeling sick is a great comfort. You get used to saying, okay I need that but can I afford it? and then when you realise no you can't, you do without or save up, it does get easier believe me and you do feel a sense of acheivement when you actually pay for something without needing to stick it on the CC.
