Hi,

I am applying for an single IVA, although I live with my partner.

She is very concerned that my IVA will blacklist her and that she will be unable to get credit etc, despite the IVA being solely in my name.

Can anybody elaborate on how my IVA will affect her please?

Kind Regards

Hi, I don't think your partner should be affected by your IVA, if there is a problem with any credit agency I do believe you can file a notice of disassociation. One of our experts will be along soon to clarify. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Your partner may indeed be associated and it could cause problems if she tried to source new forms of credit. It should not affect her existing credit facilities and any problems can be addressed as and when they arise as Lesley has mentioned.

It may not be appropriate to use a "notice of disassociation" if indeed your financial affairs are connected.

That might be the case if you had a joint mortgage, tenancy or bank account for example.
