Could I get a mortgage whilst still in the IVA ?

hi our equity in our property has now been excluded form our iva... our mortgage is with northern rock who arre no longer offering new mortgages to us... could i get a mortgage whilst still in the iva and could we use the equity if there was any towards the next property or would they count that as windfall... very confused..

I would be very surprised if you could get another mortgage at all whilst in an IVA
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

its a subject thats discussed often on here. Unfortunately we are deemed a high risk and therefore lenders will not offer mortgages for new properties. It might be possible to change your mortgage type on your existing house, more so if you have a fixed term ending. we are going to be coming up to that soon.

Its also very very unlikely that even staying with current lender and trying to get the equity that it will happen. Most of us that have equity clauses in our IVAs know we will struggle when it comes to that day.
