Hi and welcome. I vaguely recollect there can be problems being on charity committees, particularly if the post is vested with any financial responsibility or authority. Check with your ip tomorrow so you can make a decision on whether to accept. Quick thought, search the forum forms posts as I remember seeing some a few months ago. I hope you can accept the very flattering offer.
It really depends upon the constitution of the charity and the rules relating to committee membership. As the charity to provide you with a copy of the paperwork, which is not unreasonable if you are being asked to accept such office.
