We're five months in to our IVA and all has run smoothly so far...
We've been sticking to the budget and now know exactly how much we have left to spend which is great.

Although in the back of my mind my wife is a teacher currently covering maternity. The school has already agreed to extend her contract until 31st July but they can't keep her any longer. She's had two job interviews both sadly unsuccessful and the countdown is on!

The IVA company say that when it gets to July and if she has no job I should fill in an I&E and we go from there.

I'm trying to remain calm but is very difficult having this constant sinking feeling - I really could do without BR at how much I understand it actually costs now!

Hi Beatbox, hopefully all that will be needed if your wife doesn't find alternative employment is a lowered payment for a few months with your IP's permission until something comes along.

I can imagine the worry though and do understand the constant sinking feeling. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Ho Beatbox - you're doing the right thing by keeping IP updated. Were they aware of your wife's employment when the proposal was agreed?

Fingers crossed your wife will get another job soon xx

Hi
Your IP will help, either a payment reduction or payment break until your wife is back in work.
Try not to worry, most peoples IVAs will have a problem or two along the way.

Hi Beatbox. Your IVA started about the same time as mine. It's unfortunate that your wife seems unable to secure another teaching post.....Try to keep positive, hopefully she may find a post which starts in Sept when the new school year starts. It would mean a tough couple of months and possibly a payment break in the meantime. What are the chances of her finding another post.?

Hi Beatbox,

I know your situation is not easy, but your IP is there to support you through this too.
With my own experience so far you have to keep positive with anything that comes your way, and tackle it with the help of your IP.

Good luck with your wife's job hunt x
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X
