Hello everyone, i am looking at getting a pre paid credit card, the ones a bit like a pay as you go phone, where you can only spend what you have put on it. Its just so i can purchase items online. I have seen one called Orange Cash which looks really good. They say 100% acceptance guarantee and No credit check required. Will the card show up on my credit file?? its provided by Barclays for Orange. Barclays were one of my creditors i owed a few pennies to. Just don't want to get in trouble for breaking any t&c's of my iva
Thanks in advance for any replies
It isn't classed as a "credit" card if there is money up front. I've had one of these cards for a while and told my people about it during the application process and they said it was fine.
Final payment 1st April 2016.
Completion Certificate received 19th May 2016.
There are a few of these cards that do show up - they normal involve signing a loan agreement for the years fees(about £50) you cant use the this money for anything else apart from this. Its this agreement that shows up and builds the credit history. just google pre paid credit card+credit building.
Need to be careful with these cards as often they charge other fees (ie loading the card/cash withdrawal etc)
If however the orginal poster is in an IVA then - this "credit building" wont make any diffrence at the moment

I used to have one of these via Tesco - was great when going abroad!
I was sent the info for another via Cleardebt - I think they have their own kind of pre paid card/ bank account and you can get your wages etc paid into it.
I haven't bothered with one this time as I have a Visa Debit with my new Natwest account but I do think they are a good idea!

IVA Accepted 31st March 2011.
IVA Ends 31st March 2016.
None of these cards will require a credit check as you can never overspend on them.
There are a lot of them about these days and can be worth it if you have no debit card.
Not all of them have yearly fees so it's worth checking a few out.

I have a cash plus card which I got at the start of my IVA, I found it useful when I had a visa electron debit card which was not universally accepted. Be careful on charges though as some do carry a monthly fee.
IVA finished June 2011
