Your wife needs to fund out what criteria the firm has and it will depend on what she will be doing. I tbink she needs to be honest and tell them about it.

A quick call to the HR department or recruiter should clear things up. Often, the credit checks don't have any bearing on the offer if it isn't a regulated role.
