My IVA started on November 7th 2005, I'm looking at renting a different property at the start of next year. Will the IVA have dropped off my credit report by the middle of December?

There are also 2 defaults on my credit report which don't disappear until February next year, even though they are part of the IVA which started in November. I've written to them asking to redate these so they don't appear of November 7th. Firstly, what do you think my chances are of getting them corrected, and secondly, if they stay on until February, will I have problems with a credit check, even though the IVA has dropped off?

Your IVA will disappear on the 6th anniversary of being accepted so should be gone by December.

As regards the defaults, request a copy of your credit records from Experian, Equifax and Call Credit. Any defaults entered after initial acceptance have to be removed. If they are still there then write to the data controllers for the creditors enclosing a copy of your completion letter and tell them to remove the defaults.

Once they are gone then hopefully you will have no problems getting a new property.
