Wonder if anyone has experience of this...every month I pay £50 into my ex girlfriend's bank account, we have a double mobile phone contract that is in her name and comes from her account. It's always been fine as we are both with NatWest. Now, she has entered a DMP and her NatWest account has been frozen, she did not tell me this, and I duly sent £50 to her now defunct NatWest account! Is it bye-bye money or can anything be done???

I have never heard of any account being frozen because they are in a DMP. She should speak to the bank and find out what has happened.

Hi Lee, if the account has been frozen, you could contact Natwest as you are also a customer and can easily prove the money has come from you on a regular basis. Don't hold your breath, they may say, the money has been paid in and if your ex owes money to Natwest, chances are they will claim this payment.

Going forward, can you contact the mobile phone company and explain the situation. If she doesn't make the payments, you may find your phone is diconnected (assuming you still have the phone).
