Sue Clay got the Microsoft one at home the other day, and I am glad that I was not the poor chap on the other end of the phone. I do hope that he could not understand her "Welsh"!!

I hope he could!!!!

What is even more annoying is the fact that for everyone of us who tell them where to get off, there are three or four more who have fallen for it!!!

I haven't had any of these yet and they'll soon find out what I think of them if I do!

Regarding the TPS, it doesn't cover companies who are based outside of the UK.

Companies based abroad who call into the UK and who are making calls on behalf of a UK based company, must comply with UK regulations and screen their call lists against TPS before making an unsolicited sales and marketing call to a UK telephone number.

I'm not receiving any at the minute so I'm not too worried but those poor people who know no different it can really sting them bit time.

According to Which, The TPS won't stop scams, market research calls, calls from companies where you have 'opted in' or calls from companies based abroad. So even though UK companies have to comply the dodgy ones from overseas don't unfortunately.

I usually opt out but of course the companies that phone from overseas aren't governed by TPS and this is how they get round it.
