Afternoon my friends...

Hope someone can clear something up for my friend (he may join later today).

He currently runs/manages a pub for a pub company so it is managed house. If he decides to go Insolvent will this effect his job?

I know from reading on the net and what he has said if he goes Bankrupt then he will have to give up his job but not so sure about insolvency i.e. iva.

Not sure which licence you are allowed to hold in an IVA, hopefully one of the experts can advise.

this was Mels reply to a similar topic a while back
quote,
There is no problem in having a personal license when you are in an IVA, but you cannot act as a designated supervisor.

Its a personal licence he holds... so for example as you into the pub his name is above the door as the licensee (so to speak)...

Should be ok then if it's a personal licence.

Tell him we dont bite and will just give him honest upfront advice, without charging a fee,or judging him.

We are in fact just ordinary people who got into debt for a huge variety of reasons.

No, we don't bite ( but when Mel is in the room ... look busy .... and stop dancing! ). Seriously, if he's thinking of an IVA it's best to get as much background info as possible, and this is the place to do it :0)
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

This is a great place to either "lurk" and get info or to post and get direct info[:)]

Hubby was in an IVA and BR, for his job he holds a personal licence under the licensing act 2003-never had a problem.

Hope your friend joins, an IP may be along later to advise 100% but we're normally pretty good at offering advice and support as needed. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
