Hello newbie77 and welcome to the forum, cogratulations on getting to the end of your IVA.

Your IVA will come off your record 6 years after you started your IVA.

You will be able to have credit again by improving and repairing your credit.

You can do this by applying for a Vanquis Credit Card, when using the card settle all your purchases monthly.

Also apply for a mobile phone on a monthly contract, some have had success by applying for one from T-Mobile.

Apply for and pay regularly any credit you secure.

I hope thishelps you.

Regards David.

Yes credit is available once your IVA is complete. I have taken out finance for a car (much needed and the decision to take on credit not taken lightly). I also have a vanquis credit card which I just use for petrol and pay off in full every month. Both taken out with minimum fuss or intrusion to my past financial predicament. I also have my mobile on a contract, however this was taken up during my IVA. All the above will help to repair my credit rating which is almost back to full strength. The only place I seem to struggle to get anything is with my own bank (Santander).

Thank you so much for this I'm very proud of myself for getting to the end obviously I'd have preferred to have not been in this situation in the first place but the interest charges on my debts were just too high. My own fault though I have no intention of getting in that situation again I would just like to get a mortgage at some point and for the past 5 years I haven't even set up gas and electricity dd's as I was terrified of being rejected I don't even have an overdraft. Thanks again for your replys [:)]

Setting up DD's for utilities should never have been a problem. I don't have an overdraft either.
