please can someone advise our iva was settled in october 2011 with funds going over the beginning of nov2011. grant thornton have said it will be june before we get our completion certificate???? why so long i thought it was 3 months... also when will i be able to add my husband onto our bank account is this once the iva is removed from our file?.we desperatley need a new car will we also need to wait.. thank you for any advice .. emma
If you had a 5 year IVA, you have to wait another 12 months before anything drops off, so not quite in the clear.
Closual wise, im guessing its the Vat issue, i would just contact your IP asking him straight why the delay, do you need send anything to help etc.. should get a straight answer that way.
Mine is delayed by 3-6 months, but at least i know.
There has been problems with HMRC and a VAT claim which stopped cases being closed. I Burberry they are now closing them but obviously this has caused a backlog.

How long did the IVA run Emma,and was it just yours? Was Hubby in the IVA,if not I wouldnt taint his credit history by adding him to your bank account. Your credit file will be marked for 6 years from when the IVA started regardless of paying it off early.
As others have said issues with VAT and ppi reclaims are slowing closures considerably. Keep hassling your IVA firm.
