I completed a full and final IVA Dec 2010,We are now selling our house to become mortgage free, when asking Santander for a redemption figure I was told there would be a £225 admin charge [fair enough] and possibly another charge because i had an IVA. Is this right? and if it is its so nice of them to help us back on our feet again!!! I have never been in arears with the mortgage.
Thank you

Hi,

Not heard of that before. Hopefully one of our other posters will be able to help.

Like Jan I've never heard of this.

I would fight any charge that may be made. I know some posters had PPI repayments witheld against their debts (even when the IVA was complete) and they have managed to get the monies paid by Santander so maybe they are trying to recover what they wrote off.

Apologies guys - i totally misread the post !! the £225 is the exit fee (always been there, but gone up!) i dont understand the so called other fee - as Kazzafunk suggests challange it - if its not in the contract they cant charge it!!! - fomalise a complaint then, use the banking omb if required.

Don't understand that at all. There should be no fee payable just because you have had an IVA. If they try it on please refuse to pay the extra and fight it all the way. I cannot see them being able to get away with that. Also that exit fee seems rather high!!

The exit fees have greatly increased over the last few years with all lenders - yes Santander state the £225
