Hi i have been told a little over a month that my IVA closure would be in july/early aug, my last payment was on the 30th of march but emailed GT today to see what any update was on my case and said that my case has been threw the review process and all seems ok there and has now been past to the admim team for closure and was told that i could get my closure paperwork threw before the end of may if all ok and much sooner then the dates given of end of july/aug, which i believe it will be as mine was staright forward. really my question is about the admin part.what does this intail?? i gather its a quick procedure if they are saying today that i may well get my closure by end of may. any help would be great.

Firstly congratulations on your completion. I think the admin process is the issuing of final dividends to your creditors, the writing of the final report by your IP and the closing of your account.

I have just been advised that my final dividends will be distributed on 21st May and it will take a few weeks to finalise all the paperwork and remove the charge on the property, and remove us from the insolvency register, bearing in mind our final payment was 1st June last year and IVA finalised 11th august 2011.

My last payment was the 17th March, final review completed 25th April when my case was passed to the closure team.
I have been told it will take a further 6 months from the 25th April which means it will be mid October before I receive my completion certificate.
I hope you won't be disappointed because the common message from GT seems to be that it takes typically 6 months for their closure procedure to be completed.
I much prefer the time line you have been given but I would prepare to be disappointed if I were you [V][V][V]

Nobody should be left in any doubt as to how their closure is progressing with GT. Amongst the many improvements to the process outlined by Karol Wilson on 10th May, the first 2 points read:
"•providing information about the closure process, what’s involved at each stage and the typical timeframes;
•individual case updates; letting you know when your case has reached key milestones in the process;"
Those 2 points alone should mean that GT are able to be pretty specific about where an individual case is in the process, what's left to complete and how long that should take.
Surely?

Email the closure team on the dedicated email address
iva.closures@uk.gt.com
Request that, as per the information posted on here by their Customer Services Manager, they update you on the status of your closure, with specific reference to the 2 points mentioned in my earlier post.
