£250 is a ridiculous amount of money to have to pay for school uniform and that's just the initial cost? I am reeling at having to pay for the PE kit at £30 for my son going up to senior school in September. Still have to pay for the blazer, shirts and trousers but can get all that from Asda etc.
Have you had a word with the school? There must be other parents in the same position and maybe the school have other options?
What are they expecting you to pay for?

I have just had to order two new uniforms for my twins who will be going to senior school in September, we can only buy it from the school and they are only allowed to wear the official school uniform. If we were allowed to purchase at places like Asda or Tesco it would be a fraction of the cost!
