I am also getting annoying phone calls from phishers.

Usually the caller says his name is James, Robert or so... and he says it with very strong Indian accent.
Then he continues that he is ringing from the Windows Service Centre regarding a security problem on my computer (I haven't called one in so how my PC sent that information with my phone number I don't know - and I run Kaspersky. I hang up, or tell them to go away (politely at the moment), or ask them if they really think I'm that stupid and hang up. I usually report them all here http://www.tellows.co.uk/ and hope you all guys do the same !!!

Hi James, welcome.

When they tell me I have a problem with Windows I tell them it would be because I have a MAC ! They usually hang up at that point.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

My Dad (aged over 80) played along with them for a while, before informing them, after he had wasted their time long enough, that he has no computer.

Ha Ha nice one Foggy!

Welcome James and Tracey73 - glad you found the forum so you can get some help and support along the way. Hope the calls soon stop, threaten to report them to the OFT for harassment if it gets to much and always keep your IP informed.

Next time they call say you will report them under the data protection act of 1976 oe whatever year you fancy and tell them you want ALL your personal details removing immediately off their database now ! they are allowed only your postal address foe contact but the caller will be just to told call this list of numbers and clueless anyway
you wont get called again
