Try and save a little bit from your allowances each month - and do remember that small children have very low expectations about material items. You can get some terrific bargains on sites like ebay and gumtree, and being thrifty can actually be fun to try.

DFD called me on the other day and said that my IVA may fail. They said that how am I still only able to pay just 170 per month when I moved from my ex partners into my parents, and now that I am planning on moving in with my partner...they seem to think I should have more money when I won't. My new partner said that she would just take the same amount of money from me as my parents do to help me out, even if the council tax is more, my partner will pay this. I don't understand why my IVA would fail.

Hi

You need to fill out a fresh income and expenditure form to show exactly how much you will be paying when you move in with your partner, present this to DFD and see what they have to say

I think you may have communication problems with your DFD contact, there is no reason for your IVA to fail just because you have chosen to move in with your partner

They are making it really hard for me, they have also said that I may have to sell my car as the creditors may see this as an asset (my dad bought it for me) and it is a big car but I have 3 kids and need it. I wish there was a way I could leave them and go elsewhere.

How much is your car worth? Not with DFD myself but we were allowed to keep our large car which was worth about 8k at the time and was 3 years old at the start of the IVA. There was never any mention of us selling.

It is worth about £1900. It is really starting to get to me now though, it is taking ages for the review process to go through, I have a feeling I will be called into court as well due to me saying that I can't afford to pay any more than I do now.

I don't see why there is the need to change anything if you are merely going to be paying the same amount to your partner than you are currently paying to your parents?

It does sound strange that they would fail the IVA! Where do their calculations differ from yours on the income and expenditure review if they think you can pay more? x
