Has any one else had problems with DFD not confirming that you can cancel your standing order, following your last payment. How long does the end review take? and why do I have to wait for PPI to update before they can carry out the end review? I contacted DFD 2 days prior to the last payment on the 1st October and then again every week since, put at first was told nothing and now Judith is dealing with it. Put she has told me to delay my payment by a couple of weeks rather than cancel the standing order just so it gives them longer to see if we have achieved the 88% we agreed to pay back to our creditors. Am I messing something here if the debt was £47.997 and we have paid in £52,700, doesn't that mean we have given a 100% return plus fees without even considering the PPI

I would have thought if you have completed your IVA & paid in all of your monthly payments & paid in extra where applicabe then why should you wait to cancel your standing order, as far as I would be concerned it should be just a case of waiting for your completion certificate. However if you have missed any payments or not paid in any overtime/bonuses etc then this may be a different story.

It sounds like you've exceeded the 88% dividend by your figures.

Ask them for a written breakdown too to see where the ppi stands in this. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Cases should be closed within two months of the final anniversary, but the ongoing PPI issue may be causing some delays - however this should not affect cancelling your standing order. Once you have made your final payment this should be cancelled by you at your own bank.

I am with DFD. I do not have long to go now. I have already asked the question about how long it will take to complete as I signed all the PPI forms 12 months ago. DFD informed me to expect it to take 3-6 months to finalise even if all ok (that is how long they are taking as a company). I am not particularly happy about it but what can you do or say. However, just knowing you are complete and can stop the standing order would be enough for me to sing from the rooftops. Good luck :)

Hi Mrs T

I made my last payment with DFD in April, with a couple of delays in the closure process; one of which in fairness despite my odd gripe about DFD may not have been their fault. One of my creditirs included in my IVA proposal had not yet made their claim, which i found unbelievable as I had an extension to my iva making it a 6 year one and again in fairness to DFD they hi lighted this in my annual report sveral years ago. The creditor in question as at this time last week still had not claimed and DFD had again written to them and given them an absolute deadline of 24th Oct.

Im not sure if they managed to get their claim in, but DFD confirmed to me that my case was going to my IP sometime this next week for the review required for final funds to be distributed and completion certificate to be issued.

It may be worth checking with DFD , or indeed check your last annual report to see if you have any creditors that havnt yet claimed . Should this be the case then you discovering it now may hopefully get them contcating this creditor now 8 months ahead of when you are due to make your last payment

That said I would like to think and truly hope that in 8 months time that the delays to closures of the last year may be a thing of the past

Good luck for getting so far and im sure that you wil find the next few months fly
Last payment made April 2012

Thanks for that '12 months to go'.

I have checked the paperwork and all creditors have staked their claim so hopefully the IVA will come to a natural conclusion. Fortunately no house to remortgage either. Fingers & toes crossed.
