HI, Iam being told by GT that i now have claim back the PPI otherwise it could delay my completion, the last payment was made April 2012, i have been told that i was not picked up so the completion process was just started 23rd Nov 2012 (7 months since last paymenty), not sure what i can do about this? They have said that failure to investigate the PPI will be a breach of my IVA and could lead to an indefinate delay, however i was not with GT since the start of the IVA, i was transeferred in the last year from BE and this was not in anything i had with them. Any advice or answers would be appreciated>

Hi how annoying but in all honesty I would just let them get on with claiming if you have a claim to make. I'm sure you don't want any more delays. Looking at the forum GT are really going through it at the moment.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Stumpy. The PPI saga (Fiasco?) has hit all firms for six, with procedures and opinion changing daily. At this point in time, legal opinion is that the IP should instigate investigations into PPI. Failure to do so could result in come back for them from the creditors at a later date.

A couple of firms, led by Payplan and Cleardebt, have taken Mass Variations to allow IVA's to proceed to closure with PPI pending. Other firms, aided by Cleardebt, are following the same path.

Rumour has it that GT are considering this.

All that apart, you are not the first to discover it takes 6 month plus for the file to cross the corridor from reviews to closures and GT only starts it's closure clock from the time the file arrives !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I made final payment in April, passed to Closures in May, I was told in November that my final dividends would be paid mid January and CC issued straight after. Am now being told on hold as PPI needs to be investigated even though I was told by GT I could sign a disclaimer...and they are unable to give any timings for closure.

I have emailed 3 times asking for greater clarity on process and timings and they chose to ignore me.

You could just say GT are a joke, but in fact it's not funny. It is making people very upset.

IPs will shortly be issued with formal guidance notes from their regulatory bodies which will confirm that cases can be closed regardless of the need to chase PPI payments. I hope that this will speed up the closure process in all firms as a result.

Thank god for that and i have a sneeky suspicion Melanie that you were at the forefront in getting that decision made too, well done.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
