First and foremost, thanks for the wealth of information on this site from all contributors. It provided me with a valuable resource before and during my IVA for which I am grateful.
This is the first time I have raised my head above the parapet to ask a question.
I completed my IVA last year - final scheduled payment made in August and then a further payment made in October . I received my certificate of completion shortly thereafter.
However, I work in financial services and am subject to credit checks by my employer. I recently changed jobs and my employer advises that the my credit check shows the IVA as "open". In terms of my employment, the existence of the IVA would not have been an issue but I am getting to a stage where my credit may start to get back to normal and really need to address the information on the referencing agencies.
I have raised this with the IP and they are providing me with copies of all documents issued at the end of the IVA to creditors, court etc.
Does anybody have any idea what my next steps should be in terms of identifying what is on the various referencing agencies and how I go about getting their records updated?
By way of warning for anyone interested. I just went through the online process with Equifax: entered all details, card payment etc and was subsequently requested to call an 0844 number to complete the transaction. Spent 13 minute on the phone - most of it on hold. It charges at 5p per minute (although I called from a mobile and paid considerably more - it is noted on the site that calls from mobiles will cost more). Whatever the cost, it feels like another charge to access information that should be free or at worst no more than £2.00.
I've finally got the Experian credit report back and note under Public Record Information the IVA showing start date of 21-08-07 and end date as 00-00-00.
Does the IVA remain on the credit report until 6 years after its inception? Should I be waiting until 21-08-13 before pursuing this? I am certainly no longer listed on the insolvency register.
Interestingly, only one of my old creditors is listed on the report so clearly something is working and they rest are dropping off the record.
