Car trouble!
I am coming up to end of year 2, and forking out a minimum of £100 in repairs each month, my car is unlikely to pass it's next mot and I need a car for work as I live 20 miles away in a rural area. I am considering talking to my up about leasing, what firms are iva friendly? I cannot ask family for th loan route, tried that already!

Sorry about spelling, was on a kindle and have big fingers! I simply cannot without a car and public transport is ruled out owing to my start and finish times which can vary. I have considered most options but the worry I cannot get to work each day because of car trouble causes me nothing but stress. My work colleagues do not know about the iva and are pressuring me to get a new car to ensure reliability otherwise . .

I think Moneybarn are IVA friendly but unsure if they do lease, in any case do talk to your IP as it could impact on your payments and some other posters will be along soon to signpost you to some IVA friendly companies.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks Lesley, I am open to any thoughts on how to get a reliable vehicle that will last. I have used the emergency money each month and relied on the generosity of friends for the repairs but I cannot go on like that. I can often work a 12-16hr shift (occupational hazard) and living rurally, public transport out of the question.

I agree that a reliable vehicle is a must for anyone and it's not cost effective to keep repairing something. Hoping your IP will have the same view and consent to the lease
