Hi,
Recently, a payment was sent to a bank account which is part of my IVA. It was a payment I wasn't expecting and recently found out about, it happened 3 days ago.
The bank account is closed or at least not accessible by myself. The account overdraft is in with the IVA. It was a considerable amount of money that was sent to the account. Does the bank have an legal basis to withhold the money and not send it back to the sender? So could they take what they are owed and send the rest back?
Thanks in advance

They cannot take the payment to offset a debt included in the iva. Contact the bank and get their advice on how to return the funds.
