Hi
Our local authority have a scheme that if you can't raise credit anywhere else for essential home repairs you can apply for a loan with them, this can either be repaid monthly on low interest rate, or you can have option to repay if property ever sold e.g. if home valued 100K you borrow 5K you have borrowed 5% of value, if you sell house at 200K you repay 5% of that value (10K).
We had approval for a new roof with this scheme but then received PPI back from our IVA firm so didn't have to use it.
Might be worth investigating if your authority have the same scheme.

Just today I've had a flyer through the door, not sure if it's local to my area but offering a new boiler on the government green deal boiler cash back scheme so it might be worth googling for anything in your area.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

We were in a similar position last year during our IVA. We didn't have much luck with any of the green deal and local authority boiler replacement schemes. However we got a brand new boiler with a grant from Charis Grants. It's a bit long lengthy but well worth looking at.
