Is it normal practice for IP to send power of attorney forms to sign at beginning of IVA ?

Ask them to confirm why this is needed and where in your IVA propoals it states that you have to execute such documents.

How did you select this firm to act for you as a matter of interest, Jean?

Before we did all our PPI ourselves we were asked to sign up with a company called Richardson Mail.

They indeed did ask us to sign Power of Attorney forms!

When asked I was told that the Power of Attorney only pertained to PPI but I did not feel this was clear on the forms I was being asked to sign.

Power of Attorney is too important a thing to sign away without very just cause so I refused to sign and we went on to claim all our PPI ourselves.

Personally I would never sign Power of Attorney for something like this as it simply isn't needed and what else would they then have control over?!
