I've been here since October 2006! I rarely post these days but I do look in to see how people are doing.

I am going to wait until my insolvency is off my files come may/june this year then try for a mainstream credit card. The interest rate on the vanquis is high but only matters if a balance is maintained from one statement to the next. I really think the vanquis card is good for what it is,a tool for those of us nobody else wants to offer.

May wait until I get to open a nationwide bank account(moving from co op as benefits are rubbish) and go for a nationwide credit card too.

onwards and upwards!!

Paul
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

I was with Nationwide for years and I was happy with them. I only switched to Halifax as the queues in Nationwide were ridiculous and Halifax has longer opening hours. I also like my £5 a month! We do still have a joint account with Nationwide - we've got the Flex Plus account as the benefits for us are definitely worth the money.
