Our mortgage deal is due to finish and I have rang today for us to go and see a mortgage advisor at the Halifax.

Our mortgage is already with the Halifax. We also have 2 secured loans, one with the Halifax and one with First Plus. We are looking to put the 2 secured loans onto the mortgage with hopefully getting a better deal. The total of all 3 loans amounts to about £119,000 and our house is worth approx. £200,000.

The problem we have is that my husband still has a default showing on his credit file with Argos which was included in the IVA. This has now been passed to Hillesden Securities and we have sent a copy of our completion certificate to them via email. We received a response on 13th May to say it would be passed to the relevant department to update my husbands credit file. We have heard nothing else.

Does anybody know if this will stop us getting a remortgage deal with the Halifax. Will they look at all of this when we already have a mortgage with them which is up to date.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
