Hi,

My IVA will be dropping off my credit file in about a year and I'm just doing some tidying before.

Could you tell me all the places that details of my IVA are held?
I know about-
1) My credit file
2) The individual insolvency register

Are there any other places?

Do the courts hold the info and is it searchable?
How long are my creditors/courts allowed to keep detail, are they limited to 6 years?

Thanks,

Andy.

Hi, hope that last year goes smoothly for you. Not sure on all the answers to your questions but will keep it bumped up for you.

I know it should drop off your credit files 6 years from date of acceptance but worth checking as one of them likes to put a notice of correction on I believe.

Hopefully someone will come along soon. I basically sent mine to all 3 credit agencies and that was all.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi

Some creditors can obtain details from past insolvency registers details, I believe, so in some instances can find out if you have been insolvent even though there is no current record. I don't think this is a widespread practice though

Thanks Andy,

Do you know where that info is held?

Hi

We will not have access to this.

I think the safest way forward is to use a creditor that you had no debts with going into your IVA to start rebuilding your credit rating

Good Luck

Any other thoughts guys?

I'm interested in how long companies like Barclaycard can keep my records.

Financial institutions keep records for ( I believe) 7 years from the date the association ends ( which would be the date of completion of the IVA).

Whether they delete them or archive them after this I do not know.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
