Hi, I entered an Iva in June 2007 total amount around £79,000.
I maintained full requested payments of £200 pm over the full term, in addition to £10,000 paid as a lump sum at the beginning that was borrowed from family and colleges.
At around the same time I also to entered into a voluntary liquidation (ltd company) that was handled by a different company.
All of my business statements & files were sent to this company for the liquidation process.
This company changed company names shortly after the liquidation and when I asked for various documents i was advised that they were no longer available. I also tried to contact my bank for statements but these did not materialise.
I informed my iva supervisor of this but they refused to acknowledge the situation.
I had sent the supervisor everything I had relating to my income.
My IVA finished in July 2013 and it took until June 2014 to confirm that they had terminated the IVA.
Since I had kept up payments for the full term and had heard nothing since July 2014 I thought that was that until I today received a demand from a company that purchased one of the debts.
I am not sure what I can do now, and am worried that I may receive more demands from other companies.
it has now been over 7 years since the iva started. I have never been asked to meet with the supervisor as everything was done by mail.

Any solutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt if there is much that can be done now other than bankruptcy or another IVA. Looking back at your posts in 2012 you must not have reached agreeement with the IP so the IVA has been failed. You may have some grounds for complaint if you feel un fairly treated but I assume you have tried to resolve this with your IP since your last posts.

Thanks Micheal,
I did try to resolve this with them but to no avail.
Like you say it's probably too late now.
I have only had one letter from a company who bought the one of the debts. They were notified that the iva was terminated. Their solicitors have now written requesting payment.
Can this company chase me for payment ? They and one other company (egg) did continue sending the odd letters with the note at the top saying "this is not a demand for payment".

I am worried now that they will lodge this same debt with credit reference agency's.
If I did agree to pay they something towards this would it open up the doors to other companies that were in the iva?

Can't really do another iva because as yet I don't owe anybody anything apart from this £1900.
My Equifax record has been really good since the iva was removed and everything that was in it back in July 2014. I have also been able to get a better mortgage rate.
I guess my main question is can these companies that buy debts come after me all these years later ?

Hi

I think they can I'm afraid and you may find more will come out of the woodwork as your IVA failed

Probably best to try to arrange a nominal monthly payment direct to the company

It might be worth trying to settle with this creditor and hope the other debts have been written off and you hear nothing again. Fingers crossed.
