Hi everyone,
Its been ages since I was on here. Things ticking along ok, in terms of the IVA. I am one of the ones transferred to Creditfix from PJG and I have just over two years left on the term of the IVA.
Early last year I separated from my husband, and now we are starting to discuss divorce and I am trying to argue that we need to try and sort the IVA at the same time.
The IVA is in my sole name, as my ex-husband had terrible credit rating, so I ended up getting the majority of our credit out in my name. He didnt have any debts (known to me), when we took out the IVA (however it did turn out he had taken out pay day loans without me knowing, after the IVA. This was one of the reasons for out split). Since our split he has been living with his parents, and then with his new partner, which has allowed him to clear his debt and he is now discussing saving for a house deposit.
In the year since we split, I have paid the IVA payments without his help and supported our two childrem, but I believe if he can move on, I should be able to also.
So, we are starting discussions about making a f&f offer on the IVA (well, he has not agreed yet, I will be fighting for it though).
I currently pay £185 per month, however I am self employed, and my work has really dropped off over the last six months, and I am struggling a bit. Would a offer of £4,400 be reasonable (24 payments of 185), based on the idea that as my income/work has dropped, then my payments could also.
Thanks in advance

CF might well accept it - it seems like the more they can get through the more they can concentrate on their backlog.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Seems a reasonable offer, assuming you rent your home and there is no equity to be addressed. Even so, it would be worth trying especially in view of your volatile income ( a bird in the hand and all that ).

My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Sounds like it is worth putting forward and I would like to wish you well in getting this accepted to enable you to move on.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
